Sustainability
THE CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is based on the preservation of the natural order in nature and the life of human beings and the continuation of their normal functions.
If we consider in terms of businesses; While the principles of continuous growth, which are the important goals of businesses, fulfill these activities, natural resource use, pollution of nature and the environment, carbon emissions, water resources, etc. Instead of the unconscious use of natural formations, it will be to associate all humanity with disasters that will be impossible to restore, whereas sustainability;
It is not a situation that can only be possible with the existence of businesses. Sustainability of businesses can only be possible with the existence of sustainable economic environment, sustainable natural environment and sustainable social environment. Conservation of natural resources and the environment is the ability of people to meet their present needs while considering future generations and using them without endangering them.
SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS
Since transportation is a function of logistics, it can be mentioned about the damages that the logistics industry causes to the sustainable environment. This situation necessitates businesses to carry out their logistics activities with a sustainable understanding. In order to reduce carbon emissions and minimize fuel consumption, applications such as the selection of suitable transportation vehicles, regular maintenance and repairs, reducing transportation distances, and reducing the traffic caused around the warehouse or factory are among the things that can be done for sustainable logistics. It is the human responsibility of all individuals and businesses to minimize these negativities.
REVERSE LOGISTICS
It can be expressed as making the necessary planning and management in the flow from consumption to production in order to preserve the value of the products and to reuse or destroy them appropriately. It is of great importance in terms of recycling and reuse of products as well as their destruction. The benefits of reverse logistics processes can be divided into three categories: ecological, economic and legal benefits. Laws and practices enacted by the authorities may require the recall and review of products. Among the economic benefits of reverse logistics, the most important is the reduction of the energy and workload consumed for the raw materials or products to be newly produced through recycling activities. As a natural consequence of the emergence of labor, energy and economic benefits, ecological benefits arise in the case of recycling or disposal of wastes that may harm the environment.
